📚 Education Grants Program

The funding supports enriching learning experiences in reading, math, science, and history through programs offered by local nonprofits. These may include exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, hands-on activities, and field trips—helping students learn in interactive, real-world settings. Transportation may also be covered.

This initiative reflects Mayor James’ commitment to expanding high-quality educational opportunities. Last year, the city awarded $5,000 to each of its five elementary schools, continuing its investment in a brighter future for West Palm Beach students.

New eats to try in Delray: spotlight on Amar Sandwich Shop

If you’re craving something fresh, casual, and full of flavor — meet Amar Sandwich Shop in Delray’s Atlantic Avenue. This cozy spot brings Lebanese-style street food to our county: think warm pita wraps, house-made falafels, beef shawarmas, and tasty dips.

Whether you want a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner, Amar’s relaxed vibes and simple, delicious food make it a perfect stop after a beach day or errand run.ols, continuing its investment in a brighter future for West Palm Beach students.

Boca Raton downtown redevelopment heads to voters

The long-discussed downtown government campus redevelopment in Boca is now moving into voters’ hands. The city recently approved updated ballot language — so residents will vote on the project on March 10, 2026.

If approved, the plan would transform about 7.8 acres of city-owned land near the Brightline station into a mixed-use civic hub: new city hall, a community center, retail, homes, and enhancements to public green space + Memorial Park.

What to watch & why it matters:

  • Could reshape downtown Boca: new housing, shops, city services in one walkable area.

  • Park/greenspace improvements are part of the deal — important for families, walkers, dog-owners, and anyone who loves parks.

  • t’ll be a big local election issue: how residents vote could change the face of downtown for decades.
