Fall King Tides Expected This Week and Early December

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (November 4, 2025) – The City reminds residents and businesses that seasonal King Tides continue this fall and may cause “sunny-day” flooding in low-lying coastal areas. These naturally occurring high tides can briefly flood streets and neighborhoods, especially if rain overlaps with peak tides and slows drainage.

Upcoming King Tide dates for 2025:
December 3–6

Tide forecasts are provided by NOAA using the Lake Worth Pier gauge. While King Tides this year are not expected to reach moderate flood levels, storms or heavy rain can still cause higher-than-expected water levels.

The City continues improving stormwater infrastructure to handle sea-level rise and heavy rainfall. Many vulnerable neighborhoods now have tidal flood valves that let stormwater drain while blocking Intracoastal water from backing up into pipes. City crews also monitor and maintain the stormwater system to help reduce flooding.
