Wednesday morning starts with a kid-friendly introduction to one of opera’s most famous stories.

Palm Beach Opera brings The Barber of Seville to the Main Branch of the Palm Beach County Library for its Story Time series. The program gives younger audiences an approachable introduction to the characters, stories and world of opera.

Arts Warehouse | Delray Beach

If you would rather make plans on your own schedule, Arts Warehouse currently has several exhibitions on view.

Of Nature and Spirit brings together Florida artists Tom De Vita, Kathleen Kinkopf, Amarelle Kukići and Hal Yaskulka, with paintings and sculptures that explore nature, human figures, animals and surreal imagery.

You can also check out Andrew Soria’s New Nostalgia in the East Gallery and Lisa MacNamara’s Unfamiliar Languages while you are there.

Of Nature and Spirit and New Nostalgia remain on view through September 26, while Unfamiliar Languages runs through October 30.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens | Delray Beach

Thursday morning offers a quieter way to start the day at Morikami.

Garden Curator Heather Grzybek will demonstrate the traditional techniques used to rake a karesansui, or Japanese dry landscape garden. Visitors can watch as gravel is carefully shaped into patterns representing water, currents and waves while learning more about the traditions behind the garden.

The demonstration takes place in the Late Rock Garden and is free with paid museum admission.
