Labor Day weekend may be over, but there is still plenty happening around Palm Beach County before the next weekend arrives. This week brings a little bit of everything, from a kid-friendly morning with Palm Beach Opera to an open mic night in Delray Beach, an afternoon at the Norton, and one of downtown West Palm Beach’s favorite Thursday night traditions.

For families looking for something different to do Tuesday morning, Palm Beach Opera is bringing its Story Time series to the Mandel Public Library with The Magic Love Potion.

It is a simple, kid-friendly way to introduce younger audiences to opera and storytelling without committing to a full stage production. Palm Beach Opera officially lists the program for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mandel Public Library.

🎤 All Arts Open Mic

Tuesday night belongs to the performers at Arts Garage.

All Arts Open Mic gives singers, musicians, poets, rappers, writers and other creatives a chance to get on stage and share what they have been working on. Even if performing is definitely not your thing, open mic nights can be a fun night out because you never really know who is going to step up to the microphone next.

Arts Garage confirms the September 8 event from 8 to 10:30 p.m., with tickets listed at $20 to $25.

🎨 A Closer Look: Ralph Coburn, Land, Sea, Sky

Norton Museum of Art | West Palm Beach

Instead of rushing through an entire museum, Wednesday’s A Closer Look program gives visitors a chance to slow down and spend some real time with a single work or exhibition.

This week’s conversation focuses on Ralph Coburn: Land, Sea, Sky, with Norton staff guiding participants through the artwork, its possible meanings and different viewpoints.

Space is limited and online registration is required. Museum admission applies, while Norton members participate free.

🎶 Clematis by Night: Brothers of Others

Thursday night means Clematis by Night, and this week Brothers of Others takes the waterfront stage.

The trio brings an uplifting mix of soulful rock and roll and three-part vocals to one of downtown West Palm Beach’s longest-running outdoor traditions.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, find a spot along the waterfront and make a night of it. The City of West Palm Beach confirms Brothers of Others for September 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.
